Occupations (2007) was Lars von Trier’s contribution to the Chacun son cinéma project. This anthology film was commissioned for the 60th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival. The result is a collection of 34 short films, each 3 minutes in length, directed by 36 acclaimed filmmakers who have ties with the French festival.

 

In his short, Von Trier himself is seen during a screening of his movie Manderlay. The director reacts to the constant interruptions by the man sitting next to him – a self-professed critic.
